1. License grant
Subject to payment and compliance with this License and the Terms of Use, PDF Penguin grants the original purchaser a limited, nonexclusive, nontransferable, revocable license to use the software for personal purposes and the purchaser’s own internal business purposes.
2. Devices and documents
The purchaser may use PDF Penguin on multiple computers they personally own or control. There is no stated limit on the number of PDFs the purchaser may edit. A business purchase may be used by the individual purchaser for that business’s internal documents; access is not automatically licensed to every employee, client, contractor, or household member.
3. What “own it forever” means
You are purchasing a license to use the software, not ownership of the software’s code, brand, artwork, or intellectual property. The license permits the original purchaser to continue using the lawfully obtained version indefinitely, subject to these terms and technical compatibility. It does not promise that a hosted service, replacement download, support, compatibility, or updates will exist forever.
4. Updates
While PDF Penguin remains actively offered, product updates that we make generally available to purchasers are included at no additional charge. We may change, add, or discontinue features when reasonably necessary for security, compatibility, legal compliance, or product development.
5. Restrictions
You may not:
- Copy, sell, sublicense, rent, lease, publish, share, or redistribute the software or download access.
- Provide the software as a service to third parties or make it available on a shared public or organizational system without separate permission.
- Reverse engineer, bypass access controls, remove ownership notices, or derive source code except where applicable law expressly permits it.
- Use PDF Penguin to forge signatures, violate consent, infringe rights, commit fraud, or break the law.
6. Ownership and feedback
PDF Penguin and its software, graphics, trademarks, and other materials remain owned by their respective rights holders. You retain rights in your documents. If you voluntarily submit ideas or feature suggestions, you permit us to use them without restriction or compensation, while we remain free not to implement them.
7. Termination
This License ends if the purchase is refunded or if you materially violate it and do not cure the violation after notice when a cure is reasonable. Upon termination, you must stop using and delete copies of the software. Provisions concerning ownership, restrictions, disclaimers, and liability survive.
