The ground rules

Terms of Use

These terms govern your purchase and use of PDF Penguin. Please read them before purchasing.

Effective and last updated: July 22, 2026

1. Agreement

By accessing, purchasing, downloading, or using PDF Penguin, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, Refund Policy, and Software License. If you do not agree, do not use or purchase the product.

2. What you are purchasing

PDF Penguin is browser-based software for common PDF tasks such as adding text, signatures, highlights, white-out areas, checkmarks, and other supported edits. The current price advertised is a one-time payment of $29 unless a different price is clearly displayed at checkout.

“Lifetime access” and “own it forever” mean that the original purchaser may continue using the version lawfully downloaded or provided after purchase for as long as that version remains compatible with the purchaser’s device and browser. Hosted availability, compatibility with future technology, support, replacement downloads, and future updates cannot be guaranteed forever. While PDF Penguin remains actively offered, updates made generally available to purchasers are included at no additional charge.

3. Accounts, delivery, and devices

No PDF Penguin product account is currently required. Delivery and purchase confirmation may be provided by email or the checkout provider. You are responsible for providing an accurate email address and keeping your lawful copy or download information secure. Use on multiple computers is allowed for the same purchaser, subject to the Software License.

4. Acceptable use

You may not use PDF Penguin to violate law, infringe intellectual property or privacy rights, impersonate another person, forge consent, circumvent security, distribute malware, resell or redistribute the software, or help others obtain unauthorized access.

5. Signatures and professional advice

PDF Penguin adds a visual signature or other mark to a PDF. It does not verify identity, create an audit trail, notarize a document, or guarantee that a signature satisfies requirements for any particular transaction. Some legal, financial, government, or regulated documents require certified electronic-signature services, witnesses, notarization, or other procedures. You are responsible for determining what your document requires. PDF Penguin does not provide legal, tax, financial, or professional advice.

6. Refunds and support

Purchases are covered by the 365-Day Refund Policy. Support is available through the Contact page. Response and feature-request timeframes are service goals unless explicitly stated as guaranteed terms.

7. Disclaimers

Except for the express refund policy and to the fullest extent permitted by law, PDF Penguin is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, noninfringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so portions may not apply to you.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PDF Penguin will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost files, profits, revenue, data, or opportunities. Our total liability arising from the product or these Terms will not exceed the amount you paid for PDF Penguin. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

9. Governing law and changes

These Terms are governed by Maryland law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute not resolved informally will be brought in a court with lawful jurisdiction in Maryland. We may update these Terms prospectively; the date above identifies the current version.
